My horse was taken to Matthew at Cheshire Equine after 6 months of unsuccessful treatment at another local practice, after an examination and a few tests and scans, Matthew concluded that he was able to help my horse. My horse has been back a couple of times for updates and 8 months later he has been competing again and is back to his old self. My experience has been exceptional - the detail Matthew goes into but presented in a simplistic way is incredible. Correct treatment for this horse was critical. Even when Matthew wasn’t at the clinic the other members of his team knew exactly what was going on and how to handle things and fully brief Matthew afterwards. I wish I had taken my horse to Matthew and team in the first instance - it is well worth the hour drive as I’ve certainly got great results from my experience.

I moved to Cheshire Equine after my previous vet practice had given up on two of my horses with gastrointestinal problems. The vets at Cheshire Equine have been prepared to listen to me and treat the horses without charging me huge amounts for investigations that my previous vet wanted to do. I can’t believe the difference even in just handling the horses. My old vet practice had huge problems injecting and taking blood and needed three people. The vets at Cheshire Equine have all been able to take blood and inject just with me holding the horse as normal without any drama or stress. I would highly recommend them. They have even spotted mild lameness and changes to the suspensory ligament before I had even noticed the horse had a problem.

I would just like to share my heartfelt thanks to Matthew O’Donnell, and all at Cheshire Equine Clinic. I came to Matthew as a second opinion after a local veterinary practice told me there was ‘nothing wrong’ with my lame horse. I knew this wasn’t correct, so I called Cheshire Equine. Within 15 minutes of meeting me, Matthew had all but diagnosed the issue, and was creating a treatment plan! The care that my horse and I received has been second to none, and I’m pleased to report that my horse is now sound, fit, healthy and back to competition. This was now 3 years ago, and we have visited a few times to keep on top of small issues with both of my horses. A fantastic equine clinic! The care our horse, Violetta, has received from Stuart our vet and the rest of the team is second to none! All very understanding, caring and knowledgable. Time is taken to explain everything in detail, even allowed to observe procedures, there is alway someone at the end of the phone to offer support and help. On top of everything else, recently our mare managed to cut herself, it was just at the end of a long working day yet Stuart dropped everything, travelled to our yard which is a fair distance to stitch her nose. I can not recommend or praise Stuart and the rest of the staff enough!! A superb equine facility.

I am very pleased with the practise especially being able to deal with 1 or 2 vets (not multiple different vets). I especially think Joe Antal has made an extra effort to research gastric ulcers and try and do the best for my horses Lente and Cruise. Office and practice staff are all very helpful and approachable. You provide a very personal service, I know all of the vets and other staff by first names. Everyone is very friendly and helpful. I feel any concerns I have about my horses are taken seriously and not dismissed. Your facilities are excellent and I am confident leaving a horse with you overnight. You are very competitive on the price of most drugs, I only order prascend on-line. When I need a vet I have never had to wait for an appointment. We would like to see more talks from you in the future.
